Estabrook’s Walk-Off Gives Baseball Ninth Straight Win

Lions hold longest winning streak in country

NEW YORKOwen Estabrook blasted a walk-off double to score Eric Jeon and give Columbia baseball a 9-8 victory in 10 innings on Tuesday afternoon from Robertson Field at Satow Stadium.

Jack Cooper led the offense with a four-hit game and Jeon added three hits. Griffin Palfrey got the win after pitching a scoreless ninth and 10th inning.

Columbia (24-14, 15-3) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the home first on an Anton Lazits grand slam. It's the eighth straight game the Lions have put up a run in the first inning. Skye Selinsky blasted a solo home run in the third inning to make it a 5-0.

FDU answered with an eight-run fourth inning. The Knights walked seven straight times to begin the frame and faced three different pitchers.

Columbia tied it up with three runs in the fifth to make it 8-8. Cooper doubled in two runs then Lazits brought in a run by reaching on an error.

The Lions host Princeton this weekend for a three-game set to close out the Ivy League slate. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 11:30 a.m. with Senior Day on Sunday set for a 12 p.m. first pitch.
