PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The 10
th-ranked Columbia men's tennis team finished the weekend with two Ivy League wins after defeating Penn, 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Hamlin Tennis Center.
Columbia improves to 16-3 overall this season and 2-1 in Ivy League action after defeating No. 30 Princeton and No. 55 Penn this weekend.
The Lions took the doubles point to start the match with the lead.
Alex Kotzen and
Henry Ruger took a 6-3 win over Kian Vakili and Tal Goodman in the No. 3 doubles. The 16
th-ranked duo of
Theo Winegar and
Michael Zheng clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win against Manfredi Graziani and Parashar Bharadwaj in the top doubles.

Alex Kotzen,
Henry Ruger and
Hugo Hashimoto picked up singles victories to lead the Lions to a 4-0 win.
Kotzen rolled in a 6-2, 6-2 win against Vakili in the No. 2 singles to put Columbia up 2-0. Ruger followed that with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Goodman in the No. 6 spot. Hashimoto clinched the Columbia victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Bharadwaj in the No. 5 singles.
The Lions return home for their final two home matches of the season next weekend. Columbia will host Dartmouth for a 1 p.m. first serve Saturday before finishing the weekend with a 1 p.m. match against Harvard on Sunday.
