Wrestling Returns to Action at David H. Lehman F&M Open

Action begins Friday morning in Lancaster, Pennsylvania
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Columbia wrestling squad returns to action for the final time Friday at the David H. Lehman F&M Open before the start of the Ivy League slate on January 24.
Competition Friday begins at 9 a.m. inside the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of Franklin and Marshall College. Brackets will run straight through until completion.

Sunday's dual matches will be streamed live on FloWrestling and live results will be available through FloArena.
LAST TIME OUT
Columbia went 1-2 in duals at the Journeymen Wrestling Armbar at the Armory event last weekend. Columbia defeated Maryland, but lost to Lock Haven and Binghamton. The Lions now sit at 3-4 overall in duals this season. Columbia returns to dual action on Friday, January 24 against Penn in the first dual of the Ivy League slate.
Cesar Alvan was Columbia's only wrestler to finish the day with a perfect 3-0 mark. Alvan posted a 6-4 decision over Caden Dobbins (Lock Haven) in his first match of the day. Alvan secured another decision victory against Maryland's Sam Gautreau to help the Lions win the dual. Alvan then capped off the day with a 9-0 major decision win over Binghamton's Carter Baer.
RANKED LIONS
Kai Owen, Richard Fedalen, Cesar Alvan, and Nick Fine are all ranked in one or both of the FloWrestling and Intermat polls entering the weekend. Owen, Alvan and Fine have been consistently ranked most of the season, while Fedalen entered the Intermat rankings in December.

Columbia returns to compete at the David H. Lehman F&M Open after participating at the event in 2022 and 2023. The Lions secured four podium finishes in 2022. Current Lions Boris Witmer (133) and Nick Fine (174) both finished on the podium. Aaron Ayzerov posted a fifth-place finish at 184 in 2023 to highlight Columbia's performance.
