The 24-hour, university-wide online fundraising initiative helps varsity programs reach fundraising goals
NEW YORK - Columbia Giving Day returns on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. This 24-hour, university-wide online fundraising initiative incorporates all University schools and programs. This day is a staple of the Columbia Athletics fundraising calendar. Each year, the Columbia Athletics community comes together to support our coaches and student-athletes. Many varsity sport programs meet their annual goals on this day.
Department Bonuses
Each varsity sports program can unlock bonus dollars based on dollars raised, total gifts, and young alumni participation. The bonuses the varsity sports programs earn will count toward FY26 fundraising goals. The higher the dollars, gifts, and number of donors, the more the sports program can earn — and the better Columbia Athletics does against its University competitors.
University Bonuses
Columbia Athletics can unlock bonus dollars through university-wide challenges on the day. This year's challenges include most gift challenge hours, faculty/staff challenge hours, new donor challenges, and more.

Giving Day 2025 Competitions
Athletics will be competing against other schools and units within the University for a share of over $200,000 in incentive funds, which can be accomplished by winning the hourly challenges.
