Nine Lions went 2-for-2 on the day

MEDFORD, Mass. — Columbia squash teams took care of business on the road as the men's team swept their doubleheader series against Tufts and Colby, and the women's team split their opener, falling to Tufts before getting the better of Colby in the nightcap.

MEN'S RECAP
The Lions (2-0) dropped only one set to Colby, 9-0, and won eight of their nine matches against the Jumbos. Freshman Ahmad Haq, Sam Du recorded their first wins as Lions. Senior Franklyn Smith outlasted the competition in a gutsy five-set thriller. Sophomore Yusuf Sheikh, Haq, Smith, Athar, and junior Arhan Chandra went undefeated in their matches.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Columbia (1-1) dropped the contests to Tufts, 4-5, then quickly gained back momentum to best Colby, 8-1. Sophomore Eva Salzman, junior Kaavya Bansal, freshman Isha Gupta, and junior Advita Sharma clinched the victories in both of their matches. Gupta, Charlie McCrone, and Cynthia Yu earned their first collegiate wins. Yu only allowed her Colby opponent two points in the entire match.
