TEMPE, Ariz. – Columbia men's tennis senior Nicolas Kotzen was selected as one of six collegiate tennis players to represent Team USA at the 2025 Master'U BNP Paribas Championship in Reims, France, as announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Known as "The World Event of University Tennis," the Master'U BNP Paribas Championship is in its 18th year. The tournament will once again welcome eight nations for several days of high-level competition between many of the top-ranked student-athletes from both NCAA institutions and other university systems around the world. The 2025 edition will be played from December 5-7.
This marks the second year in a row a member of the Columbia men's tennis team has participated. Last season, Michael Zheng helped Team USA win Gold en route to their fifth consecutive win.
Kotzen will be joined by Samir Banerjee (Stanford), Reese Brantmeier (North Carolina), Valerie Glozman (Stanford), Aiden Kim (Ohio State), and Luciana Perry (Ohio State).
Coaching Team USA in 2025 will be Alison Ojeda (Tennessee) and Andrew Rueb (Harvard). This will be the second consecutive year in which Rueb has served on the coaching staff for Team USA, as he helped the Americans take home Gold last year in France.
Matches will consist of two women's singles matches, two men's singles matches, one women's doubles match, one men's doubles match, and one mixed doubles match. The country that wins four of these seven matches is declared the victor and advances on in the tournament.
Links to live stats and a complete player field list will be available in the coming weeks.
