CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Columbia men's basketball fell at Harvard, 87-75, on Saturday night at Lavietes Pavilion.

Blair Thompson led Columbia (12-10, 1-8) with a season-high 19 points on 8-12 shooting. He was 3-4 from three-point range and added five rebounds. The Lions shot just 33.3 percent from beyond the arc. Harvard (9-13, 4-5) shot nearly 60 percent from the field and 55 percent from downtown.

The Lions had 46 of their points scored in the paint compared to Harvard's 26. Kenny Noland dropped 16 points, while Gerard O'Keefe and Zine Eddine Bedri each had 13.

After Columbia took an 11-10 lead four minutes in, Harvard broke off a 12-2 run to take an early six-point lead with 12:35 left in the half. The one-point advantage was Columbia's last lead of the game.

Harvard knocked down 10 of its first 15 shots and held a 27-20 lead at the under-eight media timeout. The Crimson carried more momentum into the break and led 44-32. Harvard shot 70.8 percent in the first frame (17-24). Thompson had 10 first-half points.

The Lions could not get Harvard's lead down to fewer than nine points in the second half. The Crimson took their largest lead of the evening at 73-56 with 9:04 remaining.

Columbia trimmed the lead to a 12-point deficit with two minutes to go after Bedri poured in a lay-up but it was too late.
