NEW YORK — The Columbia track & field team had a busy weekend, competing in three different meets across the northeast. This included the Cornell Kane Invitational, the Yale Giegengack Invitational and the BU Valentine Invitational.
Obiora Okeke was the star of the show in Ithaca, winning the weight throw and shot put once again and setting another program record in the process. His mark of 20.60 in the weight throw is now tops in the history of Columbia.
In New Haven,
Lucy Henkel starred with a win in the 500m clocking in at 1:15.88.
Naomi Toft won the 800m with a time of 2:14.73.
In Boston,
Matt Gatune was the story as he cracked the sub-four minute mile club with a time of 3:59.35 which is third-fastest in Columbia history.
Haydn Brotschi also had a great showing, placing second in the 400m dash with a time of 47.64 which is a new personal best and the third quickest time in Columbia history.

The Lions will have next weekend off as they gear up for the Ivy League Indoor Heps beginning on March 1 at 9:30 a.m. in Ithaca.
