NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Columbia men's basketball dropped a 90-64 decision to Yale on Saturday night at John J. Lee Amphitheater.

After an 8-8 start over the first 4:17, Yale controlled the majority of the rest of the half. The Bulldogs opened a 34-20 advantage at the under-four media timeout.

Yale held a 38-25 lead at halftime. Cunningham had eight first-half points for the Lions. Columbia shot 34.6 percent in the opening 20 minutes compared to Yale's 53.1 percent mark from the floor. The Lions were out-rebounded in the half, 19-13.

Columbia used a 12-5 run early in the second half to cut Yale's lead down to nine with 13:30 remaining. Gianni Cobb had six of those points during the run, including two lay-ups.

The Bulldogs snapped off a 16-4 run over a 3:47 span later in the half to boost their lead to 70-49 with 8:33 to go.
