The Lions (15-15, 7-5 Ivy) play a crucial three-game series at Princeton this weekend, starting with a single game on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Columbia is currently tied for fourth in the Ivy League standings. Following their win over visiting Manhattan on Wednesday, the Lions improved to 10-5 this season following a loss. Caylene Nguyen made her first collegiate start in the win and went the distance to earn her third win of the season. Against the Jaspers, the Lions drew a season-high 12 walks, two of them from Sarah Mikami who extended her reached base safely streak to 16 games. Mikami leads the team with a .402 average and is one of six Lions hitting north of .300. As a team, Columbia is hitting .305 – which would be a team record for batting average in a season. Princeton (17-13, 11-1 Ivy) currently sits atop the Ivy League standings. The Tigers are 9-1 in their last 10 contests and are 7-0 at home this season. Their .322 team average is tops in the conference, while their 4.23 team ERA is third. Friday will be the 74th meeting between these two teams, with Princeton owning a 51-22 advantage in a series that dates back to the 2001 season. Last year, the Lions took the series winning games two and three.

Men's Tennis
It's a big weekend for the ninth-ranked Columbia men's tennis team. A win on Saturday at No. 20 Harvard would clinch at least a share of the Ivy League Championship. A win on Sunday would clinch it outright and punch the Lions ticket to the NCAA Tournament. Columbia (15-4, 5-0 Ivy) is riding a five-match winning streak. The Lions have not surrendered a point in conference play, sweeping Cornell, Brown, Penn, Yale, and Princeton. In the latest ITA rankings, the Lions maintained their position as a top 10 team, coming in at No. 9. Michael Zheng remains the top-ranked player in the nation. Nicolas Kotzen (No. 52) and Hugo Hashimoto (No. 73) are also ranked in singles play. In doubles play, the Lions duo of Zheng/Hashimoto is ranked No. 33, while Zheng/Kotzen is ranked No. 45.
