PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — One of the most exciting weekends of the outdoor season, the Columbia track and field team made the trip to Philly to take part in the Penn Relays from Thursday-Saturday.
The Lions had some excellent performances, highlighted by
Obiora Okeke who took home first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.90m. He also took fourth in the shot put with a mark of 18.29m.

Parker Kim also had a top finish in the hammer throw, placing fifth with a mark of 60.50.
Elsewhere for the men,
Rocco Carpinello led the way in the triple jump with a jump of 14.09m which was good for ninth place.
Joshua Adams also took ninth in the long jump with a jump of 6.98m.
Matthew Mazero, Matthew Garrett,
Max Comfere, and
Haydn Brotschi competed placed fifth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 41.11.
The women's 4x100m relay had a big day, winning bronze with a time of 46.52. The team consisted of consisted of
Sean O'Brien,
Kylie Castillo,
Olivia Sterling, and
Josie Rempe.
In the long jump,
Madison Williams had the highest individual finish for the Lady Lions with a mark of 5.95m which was good for fourth place.
Jessica Thompson finished eighth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.81m.

ON DECK:
On May 2nd, the Lions are back in action, competing in the Larry Ellis Invite in Princeton, NJ. The Penn Relays will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will continue on Saturday.
