Baseball Earns 7-3 Victory at Fordham on Wednesday

Kail, Fishel, and Temesvary homer in five-run fourth inning

BRONX, N.Y. — Columbia baseball defeated Fordham, 7-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Houlihan Park.

The Lions (13-14, 7-2) used a five-run fourth inning to run away with the victory. After Anton Lazits doubled in Columbia's first run of the day, Jack Kail, Ben Fishel, and Anthony Temesvary all blasted home runs in the inning to put Columbia ahead, 5-1.

Columbia tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning on a double steal, which resulted in Lazits crossing the plate and then Fishel singling home Griffin Palfrey.

Brendan Murphy started for the Lions and went four strong innings, allowing just a run. Ray Huke, Baylor Hicks, Tomas Lopez, and Palfrey all recorded scoreless outings out of the Columbia bullpen to seal the win.

Columbia travels to Yale this weekend for a doubleheader on Friday starting at 11:30 a.m. and the series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m.
