Lightweight 2V8 Crew Earns Bronze on Final Day of IRA National Championships

Heavyweight 2V8 takes third in Final 3

CAMDEN, N.J. — The Columbia lightweight 2V8 crew earned a bronze medal in Final 1 on the last day of the IRA National Championships on Sunday at Cooper River.

The Lions' lightweight 2V8 boat finished second in its heat on Friday to earn a chance at a medal on Sunday. Columbia edged out Princeton by less than half of a second to take third place and earn a bronze medal with a time of 5:42.850.

Columbia's heavyweight 1V8 and 2V8 each raced in a Final 3 on Sunday. The 2V8 placed third in its race with a time of 5:46.060, while the 1V8 was fourth at 5:35.740.

Columbia's V4+ crew rounded out action with a third place finish in Final 2 at 5:51.140.
