Women's Swimming & Diving Introduces Nine Newcomers

Seven swimmers and two divers join program for 2025-26 season

NEW YORK — The Columbia women's swimming and diving program and head women's swimming coach Diana Caskey, along with head diving coach Scott Donie, announced the addition of nine newcomers ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The class of 2029 hails from eight different states and is composed of seven swimmers and two divers. 

"Columbia women's swimming and diving is really excited for our new class to join us," Caskey said. "They are a spirited group, with many diverse event strengths and lots of personality! Bodes well for an exciting season!"

Victoria Mori – Fy. – Freestyle – 5-5 – CC – Irvine, Calif. - Santa Margarita Catholic High School - SOCAL Aquatics Association & Mission Viejo Nadadores

Prior to Columbia: A four-year varsity swimmer from Irvine, California … Won California State Championships in the 4x50 medley relay, 4x50 freestyle relay, and 4x100 freestyle relay … Helped Santa Margarita Catholic capture four consecutive California State team titles (2022–25) … Placed second at Winter Junior Nationals West in the 4x200 free relay (2023), 4x100 free relay (2024), and 4x50 free relay (2024) … Took third in the 100 freestyle at the 2024 California Division 1 CIF meet … Junior Nationals qualifier … Earned USA Swimming Academic All-American, NISCA All-American, and NISCA Academic All-American honors … Swam club for SOCAL Aquatics Association & Mission Viejo Nadadores.

Personal: STEM tutor for young girls in Irvine … Grew up playing a wide range of sports including figure skating and soccer … Enjoys walks, photography, surfing, and keeping up with current events … Favorite sports memory is competing at Junior Nationals with teammates in Westmont, Illinois.



Shaelyn Shields – Fy. – Back/IM  5-5 – CC – Charlotte, N.C.  Providence High School  SwimMAC Carolina & Mecklenburg Swim Association

Prior to Columbia: Two-time team captain and MVP at Providence High School … School record holder in the 100 backstroke and 400 freestyle relay … Regional and state qualifier and finalist all four years … USA Swimming Nationals, Junior Nationals, Winter Nationals, and US Open qualifier … Seven-time medalist at USA Swimming Futures … Participant in USA Swimming National and Southern Zone Select Camps … AP Scholar and Scholastic All-American … Recipient of Coaches and Leadership Awards … Swam for SwimMAC Carolina & Mecklenburg Swim Association.

Personal: Enjoys music, film, reading, social media, and hanging out with friends … Favorite sports memory is earning silver and bronze medals and celebrating a team win at the 2024 Futures Championships.



Samantha Segerson – Fy. – Distance/IM – 5-6 – Engineering – Bainbridge Island, Wash.  Bellevue High School  Bellevue Club Swim Team

Prior to Columbia: Three-time Scholastic All-American … 2023 Washington State Champion … Junior Nationals qualifier in the 200 IM, 400 IM, 1650, and 1000 freestyle … Swam for Bellevue Club Swim Team.

Personal: Enjoys paddleboarding, surfing, hiking, exploring, taking care of animals, and watching movies … Loves turtles, Winnie the Pooh, and her dog … Favorite sports memory is setting a personal best in the 400 IM her sophomore year in Mission Viejo.



Alex Moore – Fy. – Backstroke/IM – 5-6 – CC – Greenwich, Conn. – Greenwich Academy – Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club

Prior to Columbia: NISCA All-American and Academic All-American … USA Swimming Scholastic All-American … Connecticut state record holder … NEPSAC & FAA All-League and NEPSAC Champion … National AP Scholar and High Honor Roll student … Swam for Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club.

Personal: Sister, Sophia, swam at Yale; brother, Jack, and father, Ken, swam at Tufts University … Enjoys reading, baking, drawing, and spending time with friends and family … Favorite sports memory is competing in her last individual high school race with her best friend, finishing first and third together.



Ella Chan – Fy. – Sprint – 5-9 – CC – Tasmania, Australia – The Bolles School  The Bolles School Sharks

Prior to Columbia: Captain at The Bolles School … Four-time Australian Age National finalist … Pool and state relay record holder … Three-time state team member … Member of French Honor Society, National Honor Society, and academic top 10% (Years 11–12) … Recipient of Le Prix D'Honneur and Steven Todd Gold '95 Varsity Swim Team Leadership Award.

Personal: Grew up in Tasmania, Australia … Enjoys boxing, arts and crafts, reading, and sleeping … Favorite sports memories include winning rubber ducks and doing line dances at the Augusta SMOC meet, and swimming relays with her best friend at state and national meets.



Reese Heidenreich – Fy. – Sprint Free/Backstroke – 5-7 – CC – Ann Arbor, Mich.  Pioneer High School  Club Wolverine

Prior to Columbia: Four-time All-State and All-Conference swimmer … Two-time MISCA Dream Team honoree … Member of All-American 200 freestyle relay … High school and conference record holder in the 200 free relay … Senior captain … Swam for Club Wolverine.

Personal: Enjoys skiing, baking, and golf … Favorite sports memory is cheering for her relay teammates during the 200 free relay at her senior year state championship.



Madeleine Rivard – Fy. – Breaststroke – 5-5 – CC – Seattle, Wash.  Garfield High School  Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club

Prior to Columbia: All-American (11th place) … Five-time USA Swimming Futures qualifier … School record holder in the 100 breast and 200 IM … Metro League record holder in the 100 breast … Team captain … Four-year coach in a summer swim league … Swam for Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club.

Personal: Plays bass clarinet … Favorite sports memories include anchoring a winning relay at sectionals and attending team sleepovers with her summer league team.



Lily Sherman – Fy. – Diving – 5-2 – CC – Papillion, Neb.  Papillion La Vista South High School  Nebraska Dive Club

Prior to Columbia: Four-year varsity diver … Competed for Nebraska Dive Club … Eight-time Honor Roll student … Summa Cum Laude graduate with a 30+ ACT score.

Personal: Military child who started diving three and a half years ago … Enjoys reading, pickleball, and spending time with friends.



Adya Mohan – So. – Diving – 5-2 – BC – Bellevue, Wash.  Bellevue High School  Alpha Diving Club

Prior to Columbia: A four-year varsity swimmer and diver … Qualified for WIAA State Finals in 2022 and 2023 … Placed 10th and 14th at WIAA State for 1m in 2022 and 2023 … Helped lead the high school team to place 2nd overall in 2023 and 2024 as Captain … AP Scholar with Distinction … National Honor Society … Swam for Alpha Diving Club.
