Men’s Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule

The Kevin Hovde era begins Nov. 7 at New Haven; home opener set for Nov. 13 vs. UMass Lowell

NEW YORK — Columbia men's basketball coach Kevin Hovde has announced the program's 2025-26 schedule. The Lions' 28-game campaign features 14 home contests from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium.

Season tickets will go on sale in September. For more information, contact the Columbia University Athletics ticket office at 888-LIONS-11 or lionstickets@columbia.edu.

"I'm excited to get back on the court with the team as we look forward to the upcoming season," Hovde said. "The non-conference slate presents us with tough tests that will have us prepared for Ivy League play."

Columbia begins the season on the road for the ninth straight season with a matchup against New Haven on Nov. 7, followed by a contest at UConn on Nov. 10. Columbia's home opener is slated for Nov. 13 vs. UMass Lowell at 7 p.m. The first three games of the season will be a part of the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Multi-Team Event.

The Lions host Boston University on Nov. 18 before taking on Lehigh on the road on Nov. 21. Following a Nov. 23 home matchup with Longwood, Columbia will play at Fairfield on Nov. 26. The Lions open a three-game homestand against Sarah Lawrence on Nov. 29 and then welcome Hofstra on Dec. 3 before facing UAlbany on Dec. 6.

Columbia hits the road for three straight on Dec. 9 at Stony Brook, Dec. 21 at California, and Dec. 28 at North Florida. The Lions meet the Ospreys in Jacksonville for the first-ever matchup between the two programs.

The Lions wrap up non-conference play on Dec. 31 for a New Year's Eve battle with PSU Abington. Columbia embarks on Ivy League play against Cornell for the third straight season on Jan. 5 in Ithaca, New York. The conference home opener is set for Jan. 10 against Harvard.

The Lions begin their second three-game road trip of the season on Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, with matinee contests at Brown (Jan. 17) and at Yale (Jan. 19). The trip wraps on Jan. 24 at Dartmouth. Columbia returns to New York City for three consecutive home games vs. Penn (Jan. 30), Princeton (Jan. 31), and Cornell (Feb. 7).

Columbia travels to Penn on Feb. 13 and Princeton on Feb. 14 for the final road back-to-back of the season. The Lions then host Dartmouth on Feb. 21 before welcoming Brown on Feb. 27 and Yale on Feb. 28 for Senior Night. The regular season concludes on March 7 at Harvard.

The top-four regular season finishers in the conference will compete in this year's Ivy Madness, held at Newman Arena on the campus of Cornell University from March 13-15.
