Franklyn Smith won Men's Plate Pool B division
NEW YORK — Senior Franklyn Smith defeated his teammate, first year Ahmad Haq in a straight game to win the Men Plate Pool B division of the CSA Individual National Championships inside Open Squash FiDi on Sunday.
Smith and Haq battled through an extended first set, and the England native gained an edge 17-15. Smith closed out the matchup in a convincing fashion winning 11-6 and 11-5
Junior Shaurya Bawa capped a strong weekend with a runner-up finish after reaching the final of the Men's Consolidated division. Bawa battled through four games in the championship match before falling to Trinity's Huzaifa Ibrahim, 7-11, 11-13, 13-11, 7-11
