Ambani, Athar, and Haq secured the victories for Columbia
NEW YORK – The Columbia men's and women's squash came up short against Penn on Friday afternoon inside SL Green Streetsquash.
Men's Recap
First-year Ahmad Haq opened the scoring for Columbia with a straight-game victory over Penn's Rustin Wiser, taking the match 12–10, 11–8, 11–8. Imad Athar followed with another point for the Lions, as the sophomore responded after dropping the second game to defeat Zane Patel in four, 11–9, 5–11, 11–5, 11–8.
Senior captain Paarth Ambani delivered a pivotal performance, battling through five games to outlast Gregory Malsang. Ambani forced a deciding fifth game and closed out the win, 11–9, 4–11, 12–14, 11–9, 11–8, to add a crucial point for Columbia.
