Columbia Completes NCAA Zones

Will Cooley finishes fifth in platform dive
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- After three days of competition, the 2026 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships have concluded at Lejeune Hall of Navy.
The highlight of the meet came from Will Cooley, who finished in fourth place in the platform dive with a score of 601.80. Despite the epic performance, he unfortunately missed out on NCAA qualification by one spot.
Mackenzie Lu and Chloe Leung had the other top finishes for the men and women, respectively.
"So proud of this team," Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. "They are all outstanding representatives of this program and this University."

MEN
Mackenzie Lu had the other Lions' top finish, making his first career zone final and finishing 14th on the platform with a score of 486.85.
Joseph Nicol closed his career strong, making his third career zone final in the 3m, and finishing 17th with a score of 596.50.
Cooley also performed well on the 3m boards with his highest place to date on the springboard finishing in 19th.
On the 1m Nicol finished 24th and Cooley took 39th.
WOMEN
Chloe Leung had the women's highest finish, placing 35th on the 1m boards with a score of 231.10
"Chloe had a spectacular career, Donie said. "It has been such a privilege to be her coach for the past four years."
With the completion of NCAA Zones, the 2025-26 season for men's and women's swimming and diving has come to a close.
"The leadership of Joe and Chloe really have meant a lot to this team this year," Donie said. These are amazing young people and I look forward to watching what they accomplish as they move into the next phase of their lives after graduation."
