Men’s Squash Tops Tufts to Advance to Quarterfinals at CSA Team National Championships

Lions cruised past Jumbo, 8-1
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Columbia men's squash punched its ticket to the quarterfinal round in the Potter Cup to face Harvard at the CSA National Championships after dominating Tufts, 8-1.
Sophomore Yusuf Sheikh put Columbia on the board first in No. 1 singles action, outlasting Santiago Medina in straight games. First-year Ahmad Haq and junior Laszlo Godde immediately followed in five-set wins to put the Lions in front, 3-0.
Junior Shaurya Bawa, sophomore Varun Fuloria and junior Tommy Soltanian picked up a four-set victories at the No. 2, No. 6 and No. 9 positions.
Sophomores Imad Athar and Sam Du added two more wins for Columbia at No. 5 and No. 8. Senior Franklyn Smith dropped his matchup in the No. 3 slot in straight games.
