No. 23 Wrestling Set for Ivy League Tournament

Lions play host to second Ivy League Wrestling Tournament
NEW YORK – The 23rd-ranked Columbia wrestling team looks to capture its first Ivy League Tournament on Sunday. The Lions look to compete for championships and automatic bids into the NCAA Championships which will take place later this month.

First-round action begins at 10 a.m., followed by the semifinals at 10:45 a.m. Consolation rounds begin at 12:30 p.m., with championship matches scheduled for 4 p.m. All three mats will be streamed on ESPN+ with the finals being broadcast nationally on ESPNNews.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lions wrapped up the regular season with a spirited 30-6 win over visiting Bucknell, winning eight of 10 bouts. With the win, Columbia extended its winning streak to nine matches and wrapped up its dual season with an 11-3 overall record. It is the most wins since the 1996-97 team finished the year 12-6.

Penn secured two No. 1 seeds, as Davis Motyka (125) and Evan Mougalian (133) each claimed the top spot in their respective weight classes. Brown's Andrew Reall (197) rounds out the list of No. 1 seeds for the 2026 championship.

Columbia wrestlers Cesar Alvan, Sulayman Bah, Joe Curtis, Nick Fine, Vincent Mueller, and Jack Wehmeyer secured All-Ivy League recognition, as announced by the Ivy League on Thursday afternoon. The LIons' coaching staff, led by Andrew F. Barth Head Coach of Wrestling Donny Pritzlaff, was named the Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year.
Alvan (165), Bah (125), Curtis (184), and Mueller (285) earned first team honors and were all unanimous selections, while Fine (174) and Wehmeyer (197) took home second team honors. The six All-Ivy selections are the most for the Lions since 2012, while the four first team selections are the most since 1981.
