WBIT CHAMPIONS! Columbia Takes Down BYU, 81-64, for the Title

WICHITA, Kan. — Columbia never trailed and finished off a dominant run in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament, defeating BYU, 81-64, in the title game on Wednesday night at Charles Koch Arena.
The Lions (25-8) earned their third wire-to-wire victory of the tournament. They trailed for all of 3 minutes and 9 seconds across the five games combined, holding a lead for 96 percent of the WBIT.
Mia Broom led the way with 23 points and Riley Weiss had 20 points (14 in the second quarter). Columbia led by as much as 27 with 7:13 to play and held off a furious BYU charge down the stretch.
