POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Lions lost their last game in the Marist College Invite to the hosting Red Foxes 3-0. First-year Natalie Gerling (Orange, Calif.) was named to the all-tournament team for her effort over the team's three games. CU dropped to 2-10 for the season.
The Light Blue lost three close games to Marist, falling 30-26, 31-29, and 31-29. Gerling led the team on offense with 12 kills while fellow first-year Kelli Hogan (McMurray, Pa.) had a match-high 15 digs. On the weekend, Gerling totaled 45 kills and 24 digs over three games and averaged 4.09 kills per game.
CU starts it Ivy League season next weekend as the team takes on Cornell in Ithaca on Friday, October 1st at 4:00 p.m. The Lions will then face the Big Red at home as part of the homecoming festivities on Saturday, October 2nd also at 4:00 p.m.
