NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Former Lion All-American Marcellus Wiley '97 was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars March 30, just over a month after being released by the Cowboys after one season in Dallas.
The ninth-year veteran, who will be playing on his fourth NFL squad, is expected to start at defensive end for the Jaguars.
Wiley was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 1997 NFL draft. He went on to be an All-Pro end for the San Diego Chargers in 2001, and in 2004 was picked up by Dallas, where he started 15 games last season.
At Columbia, Wiley was third-team All-America, and first-team All-East and All-Ivy for the Lions' 1996 team which finished 8-2.
Wiley has a one-year contract with the Jaguars, but, according to his agent, the deal could eventually be extended.
