Columbia Athletics has announced several changes to its game day procedures at Baker Field, which will be in effect for the Columbia football game vs. Harvard on November 5. These changes will enhance our fan-friendly environment for cheering on the team with even more opportunities for picnicking, barbecuing and alumni-student interaction, including the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages by fans 21 and older. Please see below for details.

Wien Stadium Gates Open: 11:00 a.m.
Alcoholic Beverages, Wristbands and other Restrictions:
· All fans 21 and older may carry in up to six (6) 12-ounce cans of beer per person on game day, from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the second half of the game.
· As fans approach the main entrance to Baker Field Athletics Complex (the Class of 1905 gate), signs will indicate two lines - one for people carrying in beer, and another line for all other fans including those with non-alcoholic beverages in plastic or aluminum containers.
· Individuals carrying in beer must show two forms of valid photo ID, and will receive a wristband to wear inside Baker Field.
· All fans' bags will be subject to search. Neither weapons nor beverages of any kind in glass bottles may be carried into Baker Field.
· Alcoholic beverages may be consumed only in these designated areas: Parking Area B, Parking Area C and the new tailgate zone (located on the practice field; see below for details). No open containers of alcohol are allowed outside of these areas. As always, no alcoholic beverages are allowed in Wien Stadium.
· People 21 and older who do not carry in beer but who wish to drink beer in the tailgate zone will be asked to wear a wristband after showing proof of age at the entrance to the tailgate zone.
New Tailgate Zone:
A special area on the practice field has been created for students and other fans to picnic and socialize before and during the game. All fans are welcome in this area, but wristbands are required for those who wish to consume beer (see previous section for details). Fans may not exit the new tailgate zone with an open can of beer, except into the adjacent Parking Area B; no alcoholic beverages may be brought into the tailgate zone from Parking Area B. See the map of Baker Field for this location. Please note: beer will no longer be available for sale at Baker Field.
Barbecuing:
A ten-foot gas grill will be set up for complimentary use in the tailgate zone on the gravel edge of the practice field. Fans are encouraged to bring food to Baker Field, grill it, and eat at the picnic tables on the practice field. Anyone wishing to bring a portable grill to Baker may do so; these can be set up on the gravel edge of the practice field, in Parking Area B or near the picnic tables along the stadium outer concourse. Please see the map of Baker Field for these locations. No grills can be used on the practice field itself because of the need to protect the artificial turf.
Drop-Off Procedure:
Large groups wishing to drop off supplies for tailgating or barbecuing in the new tailgate zone may do so between the hours of 8:00-9:00 a.m.; all vehicles dropping off supplies must be off the premises by 9:15 a.m. These cars should enter Baker Field at Parking Gate B. Please see the map of Baker Field for this location. Vehicles will be subject to search; no alcohol may be transported into Baker Field in this manner.
To ensure the safety of fans leaving Baker Field, no pick-up of supplies will be permitted after the game. An area will be designated for fans to drop off extra food that they do not wish to carry out of Baker Field. Extra food will be donated to a local charitable organization.

Parking at Baker Field is sold out for the 2005 football season. Access to reserved parking lots through Parking Gates B and C is limited to those holding reserved parking passes.
