HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth built an 8-2 lead 23 minutes into the contest to defeat Columbia, 14-6. The 13th-ranked Big Green (4-3, 1-1 Ivy) got four goals and an assist from Kristen Barry.
The Lions (4-3, 0-2 Ivy) were led by Kate Lombard and Marisa Marcellino, who each scored twice. First-year Rachael Ryan had a goal, an assist and six ground balls.
Dartmouth scored four of the first five goals of the game. Junior co-captain Katie Warner had an unassisted goal with 16:20 left in the half to make the score 4-2, but the Big Green scored four straight times to put the game out of reach. Marcellino had a goal from Ryan with a second left in the half to make the score 8-3 at the break.
The Big Green opened its biggest lead of the game, 14-4, on a free position goal with 10:12 left to play. Lombard and Ryan completed the scoring with goals at 54:31 and 58:04, respectively.
Marcellino added four ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers. Marcela Calidonio played the final 40 minutes of the game in goal, allowing eight goals, after Emma Mintz started the game.
Columbia is in the midst of playing four of the nation's top 21-ranked teams in a five-game stretch. The Lions host No. 6 Princeton on Wednesday, March 29 at 7 p.m.
