PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Penn scored the game's first six goals in the opening 12 minutes to roll to an 18-5 triumph over the Lions at Franklin Field.
The 21st-ranked Quakers scored 16 seconds into the contest and never trailed. Penn outshot the Lions, 21-4, in the first half in building an 8-1 lead. Penn went on to lead by as many as 14, 17-3.
Five different Lions scored Columbia's goals; Holly Glynn had a goal and an assist. Elyse Pultz had three ground balls and two draw controls.
Penn (6-4, 2-1 Ivy) dominated the draw controls in the game, 17-7. Melissa Lehman had four goals and Rachel Manson scored three times and had an assist for Penn.
Columbia is now 4-5, 0-4 Ivy League. The Lions play at Fairfield on Wednesday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
