Field Hockey Falls to Hofstra 1-0

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Hofstra scored 29 minutes into the first half to defeat Columbia 1-0. Sara Gonzalez scored for the Pride unassisted at 28:30 to give Hofstra the win. Sophomore Kristina George (Encinitas, Calif.) had an outstanding game in goal for the Lions, totaling 11 saves on 27 Hofstra shots. Columbia returns to action on Friday, September 10 when they host Cornell for the home and Ivy opener.
