PRINCETON, N.J. -- Lauren Morford swam a near season-best time of 5:02.66 to win the 500-yard free, but Columbia was defeated, 115-98, at Princeton. The Lions finish the dual portion of their season with a record of 5-5 overall and 2-5 Ivy.
Columbia had two other event-winners against the five-time defending Ivy champion Tigers. In the 100 fly, Kelly McConnell swam 59.26 to best the field in that event. In diving, Teresa Herrmann posted a score of 299.86 on the three-meter board to place first. Herrmann and fellow senior Grace Coyle were two of the top three finishers on the 1m board as well.
Kate Head took third in the 50 free a time of 25.00.
"It was good to get a chance to compete in that pool three weeks before Ivies are held there," said head coach Diana Caskey. "This will help us to get ready for that meet."
The Ivy League Championships begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 at Princeton.
