Biography

Coach Goswami on Kung: “Kevin has tremendous work ethic. He had a lot of nagging injuries last year. He should rebound and help us in both singles and doubles.”

Spring 2010: Member of the 2010 Ivy League Championship team … went 7-1 in singles, playing mostly in the No. 5 spot … went 3-1 in conference singles matches … went 10-8 in doubles with partner Rajeev Deb-Sen in the No. 3 spot … beat opponents from Binghamton, SMU and Texas Arlington in non-league matches … had Ivy League wins over opponents from Dartmouth, Yale and Princeton.

Fall 2009: With doubles partner Mihai Nichifor, beat Francois Van Impe and David Bendeheim of Nebraska 8-2 at the UVA Invitational.

Spring 2009: Recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete … Went 5-3 in singles in 2009, playing a majority of his matches in the No. 6 spot …closed out the Lions’ 7-0 victory over Army with a come-from-behind win at No. 6 singles … won at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-4, against Boston College in the ECAC Quarterfinals … defeated St. John’s Stefan Nikolic at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-2 … won at No. 3 singles against Fairleigh Dickinson, 6-4, 6-2, and at No. 6 singles against Binghamton, 7-6, 7-6.

Fall 2008: Advanced to the Round of 32 at the Wilson/ITA Regional Championships in doubles with teammate Ekin Sezgen.

Spring 2008:
Competed in “B” Singles at the Columbia Classic, where he defeated Manhattan’s Philip Szymik, 6-2, 6-2 in his first match ... defeated Radford’s Paul Boslet, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5 singles ... defeated Manhattan’s top doubles combo, 8-0, with teammate Jared Drucker ... beat Fairleigh Dickinson’s No. 3 doubles combo, 9-7 with Drucker, and beat the No. 5 single’s opponent, 6-2, 6-1 ... won, 6-0,  6-2 against Manhattan’s Filip Szymik at No. 3 singles ... at No. 5 singles, defeated Army’s Girdley, 6-2, 6-1 ... defeated TCU’s Zach Nichols and Jack Seider, 8-5 on the first stop of the Lions’ spring break trip ... also won at No. 6 singles, defeating Casey Powers, 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) ... at Texas-Arlington, defeated Nashant Hari, 6-3, 6-4 at sixth singles ... on the last stop of the Lions’ Texas tour, was the only player to record a win against Southern Methodist’s Taylor St. Eve, 6-4, 7-5 ... with teammate Mark Clemente defeated Princeton’s Faust-Gober pair, 8-5, at first doubles.

Fall 2007:
Was victorious in a pair of tournaments, including his first intercollegiate showing at the UVA Fall Classic ... defeated Virginia's Andrew Downing, as well as opponents from Longwood, George Washington and William & Mary ... also captured the "B" singles title at the Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational ... went 11-2 overall in singles in the fall.

At Hong Kong International: Ranked #1 player in Hong Kong in 12s, 14s, 16, 18s ... won three ITF circuit doubles title ... ranked as high as #274 in the world by the ITF as a junior ... winner of Hong Kong Junior Nationals.

Personal: Parents are Ann and Kenneth ... economics major.
