Kyle Hutson enters his second year as Director of Video and Analytics on the Columbia women's basketball staff. Hutson first came to the program in the fall of 2019 and spent his first two years as a graduate assistant manager.
With a vast background in statistical collection and data analysis, Hutson is responsible for leading a team of graduate managers that analyze several key data points, including Columbia's possession quality and shot selection. Among his many other tasks, he is also responsible for building film edits for individual and small-group sessions.
Prior to arriving in Morningside Heights, Hutson spent two years as a Stat Auditor for the NBA, working out of the Association's Secaucus headquarters. In his role, Hutson communicated with in-arena statisticians during games to confirm all play-by-play descriptions and statistics. Hutson's background also includes serving as a video scout for Sports Info Solutions in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, where he collected and analyzed baseball and football stats from various competition levels.
Originally from St. Louis, MIssouri, Hutson graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in business economics. He went on to receive a Master of Science in sports management from Columbia University in 2021.
