Damien Strahorn recently completed his fourth season as an assistant coach at Columbia, and is the longest tenured coach on Joe Jones' staff.  He came to Columbia in June 2006.

Strahorn is responsible for opponent scouting, recruiting and working with Columbia's post players.  He has added value to the Columbia program with his tireless game preparation and in-game savvy.

Strahorn came to Columbia after serving as an assistant men’s basketball coach for four years at Colby College, his alma mater, in Waterville, Maine.

While at Colby, Strahorn was responsible for identifying, evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes, as well as organizing on-campus visits and overnight stays.

During his tenure at Colby, Strahorn facilitated practice plans, on-court instruction and was responsible for assisting with game plans and scouting. Strahorn also developed the strength program for men’s basketball at Colby.

As a player, Strahorn was a first team All-New England selection and was named first team All-NESCAC in 2002.

The Menlo Park, Calif., native graduated from Colby in May 2002 with a bachelor's degree in economics and a minor in administrative services.
