
Shalbrack Chosen Ivy League Rookie of the Week

NEW YORK – For the second time this season, first-year Andy Shalbrack has been named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week. On Saturday vs. Dartmouth, his fourth-quarter interception returned to the Big Green's19-yard line to set up the Lions' only touchdown of the day.
Shalbrack now has three interceptions, ranking him tied for first in Division I for interceptions by a first-year in 2006. It was the second week in a row the linebacker from Doylestown, Pa. had an interception. He also had seven tackles vs. Dartmouth.
For the Lions, it was the fourth time in six weeks this season that a Columbia player has earned the league's weekly top rookie honor. Shalbrack has earned the award twice, as has Austin Knowlin.
