
Volleyball Falls to Lafayette, 3-0

Columbia lost to Lafayette in three games, 30-22, 30-25, 30-21. Amalia Viti led all players with 15 kills, while Natalie Gerling had 14 kills. Martina Kajanova and Ellie Thomas led the team with 15 digs.
The Lions led only once in game one, but knotted the score four times in the 30-22 loss. Columbia had 12 kills to Lafayette's 18 and the Leopards made seven errors to hit over .300 for the match.
Columbia led three times in game two, and the teams traded points to the tune of seven ties in the hotly contested game. In the end it was a five-point push on three receiving errors by the Lions that gave Lafayette the lead for good. The difference was in serving and points at the net, as the Lions totaled eight more kills in game two than Lafayette (18-10).
The Leopards did not trail in game three en route to the 30-21 win.
The Lions, now 0-7 on the season, do not play again until they travel to Riverdale, N.Y. to play Manhattan College on September 26.
