Fall Season Opens for Women's Rowing at the Poughkeepsie Regatta

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Columbia's women's rowing squad began its fall campaign on the banks of the Hudson River at the Quadricentennial Poughkeepsie Regatta on Saturday morning.
In the women's varsity eight, the Lions defeated Army, Vassar and Marist, as Columbia ultimately finished fourth of seven teams in the four-mile race.
Columbia finished in a time of 26:34.29, trailing Cornell, Syracuse and Penn, which took home the top three spots in the field.
The Lions are back in action on Sunday, October 18 at the Head of the Charles in Boston.
