NEW YORK – Columbia first-year quarterback Sean Brackett (Brooklyn,
Conn.) was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week after rushing for a team
season-high 171 yards on 20 carries in the Lions' 28-14 win over Brown. It was
the Lions' first home win vs. Brown since 1996.
Brackett also threw for 151 yards, going 10-of-19 with one touchdown. His rushing total was the most of any Lion in 27 games, dating back to the 2007 season. Brackett's efforts led to Columbia's dominating the time of possession (36:06 to 23:54) and accounted for the majority of its season-high 447 yards of total offense.
Columbia finishes with its best Ivy League record since 2003 and ties its best League finish (tied fourth) since 1996 (Columbia also finished tied for fourth in 2001).
