Day 5
It rained on us for most of the practice but we will have to play in this type of weather sometime along the way.
The offense has to be able to protect the football in the wet conditions, we fumbled it twice on two good plays by the defense.
We threw the kickers in the linebacker individual to teach them how to tackle. We can't wait until the ball comes screaming back at them to find out they don't know how to tackle. After they figured out we weren't kidding they jumped in and did the best they could. We will keep working on it with them and hopefully they will never have to use the technique.
Offense
Cohen had another good day and was playing more physical than I have seen him play. Chao ran the ball well today, especially on the outside play. I thought we threw the ball pretty good under the conditions that we were in today. The Backs in general did a good job in picking up pressure in the pass game. We got one screen to go as planned. The offense won the goal line period. I think this is the best we have been running the power play since I have been here.
Defense
Fraser had a good day but missed on a chance for a pick. Grassa had a pick during the rookie team period. Cameron is playing very well. Paruch is dong a good job on special teams and is continuing to develop as a SAM. Mehrer is playing more physical at Free. We have to be fast and physical on defense to be able to hold up against the people that are going to pound the ball at us.
Saturday is the first day with two practices.
