
Women's Basketball to Take Part in "WALK to Stop Child Trafficking Now!" in Manhattan

NEW YORK -- On Sunday, Sept. 27, members of the Columbia University women's basketball team and other Lion student-athletes will take part in the WALK to Stop Child Trafficking Now!, a worldwide initiative designed to raise awareness to the problems of child trafficking around the country and the world.
The walk will begin at 62nd Street, adjacent to Lincoln Center, at 9:45 a.m. and will run until noon. Individuals, corporations, communities and student groups are scheduled to participate in the global event that is slated to attract thousands of people who will walk throughout the world. In addition to the flagship walk in the City of New York, there are 39 community walks scheduled around the country.
The event is co-sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and is a Lions Cup Community Service event.
