NEW YORK - Columbia is back in action at home this Saturday, October 15 to face Penn in the Lions' annual Homecoming game on Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium at 3:30 p.m. As of Friday morning, Saturday's forecast in New York City is mostly sunny and breezy with a high of 65 degrees.
Both teams will be playing their second Ivy League game of the season. Columbia's first league game resulted in a 24-21 defeat at Princeton, while Penn came away with a 22-20 victory at Dartmouth two weeks ago.

THE SERIES
This will be the 90th meeting in the series between Columbia and Penn, which began in 1878. Columbia's last win against the Quakers was a 20-19 victory in overtime during the 1996 season. Down 19-13 in overtime after Penn scored first but missed the extra point, Columbia's Paris Childress found Dennis Lee in the end zone to tie the game. Matt Linit knocked the ensuing extra point through the uprights to give the Lions a win, pushing Columbia's record to 4-0.
COLUMBIA ON VERSUS
The Coluambia-Penn game will be televised live on the VERSUS Network as the Ivy League Game of the Week. Randy Moss, Ross Tucker and Carolyn Manno will provide the call. The last time a Columbia game was televised on VERSUS was a memorable, rain-soaked 21-13 victory over Dartmouth at Wien Stadium in 2008.
BRACKETT PASSING GREATS
Junior QB Sean Brackett is now in third place in the Columbia records book with 30 touchdown passes entering the Penn game. He sits behind John Witkowski (56) and Jeff McCall (31) on the school's all-time list.
POSITIONING STATEMENT
Columbia ranks fourth in the Football Championship Subdivision in punt return yardage averaging 18.50 yards per game. Columbia also ranks sixth in kick return defense, allowing just 16.79 yards per game.
ZACH ATTACK
Zach Olinger is tired for third in the Ivy League with 36 tackles on the year, and average of 9.0 per game. A.J. Maddox is tied for 17th. Olinger also leads the League in forced fumbles with two.
MARTIN STANDING TALL
Josh Martin ranks second in the Ivy League in sacks with four, and eighth in tackles for a loss with four. Martin has gotten his hands on four pass attempts, has four quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal to his credit.
MURPHY'S LAW
Ryan Murphy leads the League in fumbles recovered with two. The junior linebacker has started all four games and also has registered four tackles for a loss this season.
HAMILTON HAULS IT IN
Sophomore tight end Hamilton Garner caught a pair of touchdowns from Sean Brackett in last week's game vs. Sacred Heart. In his first season as a starter, Garner now leads Columbia's receiving corps with three scores and is second in yards receiving with 147.
HAUSCHILDT NAMED SEMIFINALIST FOR NFF NATIONAL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD
Columbia senior football captain Bob Hauschildt was named a semifinalist for the 2011 National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete Awards, presented by Fidelity Investments®, a leading provider of not-for-profit workplace retirement savings plans in higher education. Last year, Hauschildt was awarded the Class of 1913 Football Cup, awarded annually to the member of the Columbia football squad, in his junior or senior season, who achieves the best scholastic average. Hauschildt is a two-year starter on the Lions' offensive line and was chosen as one of four captains prior to the start of the 2011 campaign.

Junior quarterback Sean Brackett ranks fourth in the Ivy League in passing yards per game, averaging 193.5 yards per contest this season. Brackett has throws seven touchdown passes this season to four different receivers. Brackett is also third in total offense in the Ivy League at 238.5 yards per game.
MARVELOUS MARCORUS
Sophomore running back Marcorus Garrett scored his first collegiate touchdown last week vs. Sacred Heart, a 16-yard run in the first quarter. Garrett was part of a rushing attack that piled up 157 yards on the ground against the Pioneers.
BIG PLAYS
Against Sacred Heart, Columbia's offense had 15 plays from scrimmage that went for 10 yards or more.
SACK RACE
Columbia's defense is tied for third in the Ivy League in quarterback sacks. Both the Lions and Princeton have totaled seven sacks this season.
CELEBRATING THE 4TH
The Lions' defense has came up big on fourth down plays this year. The Lions are first in the Ivy League in opponents' fourth-down conversions, only allowing one first down in seven tries by their opposition.
IN THE RED ZONE
Columbia has scored eight touchdowns on 11 trips into the opponent's red zone.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
Thirteen different Lions have made at least one reception during the first four games of Columbia's season. Senior wideout Kurt Williams leads the pack with 18 receptions for 239 yards this season.
NUMBER EIGHT IS GREAT
The 18 receptions by Kurt Williams ranks fourth among all Ivy League wide receivers. Williams also ranks seventh in the league in receiving yards per game.
ARCHIE ROBERTS, NFF DISTINGUISHED AMERICAN
In July, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced that Dr. Archie Roberts, a prominent heart surgeon who played football at Columbia in the 1960s, has been named the 2011 recipient of the organization's Distinguished American Award. First bestowed in 1966, the NFF Distinguished American Award is presented on special occasions when a truly deserving candidate emerges. Roberts will become the 40th recipient of the award, joining an impressive list of previous honorees that includes Vince Lombardi, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Pete Rozelle, Joe Paterno, Pat Tillman, T. Boone Pickens and last year's honoree Tom Brokaw.
