Football Set to Face Dartmouth in New Hampshire on Saturday

NEW YORK - Columbia will play on the road for the first time in three weeks when the Lions travel north to Hanover, New Hampshire to face the Dartmouth Big Green on Saturday, October 22 at 1:30 p.m.

THE SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the 82nd meeting between Columbia and Dartmouth with the Big Green having won the last two meetings. Dartmouth leads the all-time series 63-17-1. Columbia last defeated Dartmouth in 2008, a 21-13 win in a torrential downpour at Robert K. Kraft Field.

LAST TIME OUT FOR COLUMBIA
Columbia tied the game at 20-20 late in the fourth quarter but Penn scored with 25 seconds remaining to defeat the Lions 27-20.

LAST TIME OUT FOR DARTMOUTH
Senior Nick Schwieger rushed for his 12th career 100+ yard game, but Dartmouth fell short in the comeback, losing to Holy Cross 25-17.

BRACKETT PASSING GREATS
Junior QB Sean Brackett is now tied for second place in the Columbia record book with 31 touchdown passes in his career. Brackett is now tied with Jeff McCall '02 and sits behind John Witkowski '84, who threw 56 touchdown passes in his career, on the school's all-time list.

MORE FOR MORAND
Senior Ross Morand had 12 solo tackles vs. Penn, a career-high.  For his efforts Morand was named the John Toner Columbia Homecoming Player of the Game.

ZACH ATTACK
Zach Olinger is tied for eigth in the Ivy League with 42 tackles on the year, and average of 8.4 per game.  A.J. Maddox is tied for 22nd. Olinger also ranks second in the League in forced fumbles with two.

MARTIN STANDING TALL
Josh Martin ranks third in the Ivy League in sacks with four and a half, and 11th in tackles for a loss with four.  Martin has gotten his hands on four pass attempts, has four quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal to his credit.

MURPHY'S LAW
Ryan Murphy leads the League in fumbles recovered with two.  The junior linebacker has started all five games and also has registered a team-high six tackles for a loss this season.

HAMILTON HAULS IT IN
Sophomore tight end Hamilton Garner has caught a touchdown pass from Sean Brackett in each of Columbia's last three games. Against Penn, Garner made a 16-yard scoring catch to put the Lions ahead 17-10 in the third quarter. A week before vs. Sacred Heart, Garner caught two touchdown passes and now has four scores on the year.

HAUSCHILDT NAMED SEMIFINALIST FOR NFF NATIONAL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD
Columbia senior football captain Bob Hauschildt was named a semifinalist for the 2011 National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete Awards, presented by Fidelity Investments®, a leading provider of not-for-profit workplace retirement savings plans in higher education. Last year, Hauschildt was awarded the Class of 1913 Football Cup, awarded annually to the member of the Columbia football squad, in his junior or senior season, who achieves the best scholastic average. Hauschildt is a two-year starter on the Lions' offensive line and was chosen as one of four captains prior to the start of the 2011 campaign.

HAMBLIN IS 2011 NFF NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced that Columbia defensive back Tyler Hamblin is one of five winners of the 2011 NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Awards with each recipient selected as the best of the best from their region of the country at the high school level.  Selected from the 400,000 high school football players covered by the NFF Chapter Network, Hamblin, who played his high school ball at Cretin-Derham in Minneapolis, Minn., is the Midwest Region winner.  He will be honored for his high school accomplishments during the NFF Chapter Awards Luncheon Tuesday, December 6 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

YOU SHALL NOW PASS
Junior quarterback Sean Brackett ranks fourth in the Ivy League in passing yards per game, averaging 198.4 yards per contest this season. Brackett has throws eight touchdown passes this season to four different receivers. Brackett is also third in total offense in the Ivy League at 242 yards per game.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
Fourteen different Lions have made at least one reception during the season. Senior wideout Kurt Williams leads the pack with 23 receptions for 325 yards this season.

NUMBER EIGHT IS GREAT
The 23 receptions by Kurt Williams ranks fifth among all Ivy League wide receivers. Williams also ranks sixth in the league in receiving yards per game.

MARVELOUS MARCORUS
Sophomore running back has found the end zone in each of the last two weeks. On October 8 vs. Sacred Heart, Garrett scored on a 16-yard rush that put the Lions on the board. On Oct. 15 vs. Penn, Garrett also scored Columbia's first touchdown of the game, a two-yard plunge that put the Lions ahead 10-0.

EDDY MONEY
Columbia sophomore kicker Luke Eddy drilled a pair of field goals in a stiff wind vs. Penn last week. Eddy made a 31-yarder to get the Lions on the board in the first quarter then nailed a pressure-packed, 35-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.

SACK RACE
Columbia's defense is tied for third in the Ivy League in quarterback sacks. Both the Lions and Penn have totaled nine sacks this season.

CELEBRATING THE 4TH
The Lions' defense has came up big on fourth down plays this year.  The Lions are first in the Ivy League in opponents' fourth-down conversions, only allowing two first downs in nine tries by their opposition.

IN THE RED ZONE
Columbia has scored 10 touchdowns on 15 trips into the opponent's red zone.
