
Jonathan Debogory Named Assistant Track & Field Coach

NEW YORK - Columbia's Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Willy Wood has added Jonathan Debogory to the track & field coaching staff at Columbia University, it was announced this week. Debogory will work mainly with the field athletes, including jumpers, vaulters and throwers.
Debogory comes to Columbia after four seasons as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University. He earned multiple honors while with the Pioneers, including the 2011 Northeast Conference Outdoor Coaching Staff of the Year. Debogory coached multiple NEC standouts while at Sacred Heart, including regional qualifiers, conference and school record holders, NEC and New England champions, All-New England and All-NEC honorees, and a USA Junior qualifier.
Prior to Sacred Heart, Debogory spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Campbell University. While at Campbell, he coached the multi-event athletes as well as the high jumpers, pole-vaulters and throws while also handling travel and recruiting. He earned a Masters of Education from Campbell.
Prior to his stint at Campbell, Debogory spent a year at Lynchburg College, where he coached a Division III All-American, as well as NCAA qualifiers in the weight throw, long jump, 400-meter hurdles, decathlon and heptathlon.
Debogory graduated from Liberty University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science.
