Piyapattra Named to Golf Digest?s 50 Players to Watch List

NEW YORK - Columbia women's golfer Michelle Piyapattra has been selected to the Golf World Top 50 Female Players to Watch list, as announced in the Sept. 3 issue of Golf World.
The junior from Corona, Calif. was selected as the Ivy League Player of the Year last season, as well as being named to the All-Ivy League first team for the second consecutive season. Playing in 10 tournaments during the 2011-12 season, Piyapattra finished in the top-five seven times, with wins at the Harvard Invitational and the Sixth Annual ROAR-EE Invitational.
The Columbia women's golf team will begin fall competition this weekend, traveling to Lewisburg, Pa. to play at the Bucknell Invitational Sept. 8-9.
