LIONS' STATUS
Columbia heads into the first weekend of back-to-back Ivy League contests with a 4-12 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the Ancient Eight after splitting a pair of games with Cornell. Each team won on their home court, with the Lions posting a 71-64 win at home, while the Big Red picked up a 76-51 victory in Ithaca, N.Y. Through the first two games of conference play, the Lions have connected at a 42.3 percent clip for long range, tops in the Ivy League.

Yale improved to .500 (8-8) overall after opening up the Ivy League slate with two victories over Brown. The Bulldogs are 2-0 in the Ivy League for the first time since the 2010-11 season. Yale has received an ample amount of production from its bench, with its reserves averaging 29 points in the first two Ivy League games, while also racking up the points from close range, averaging 40 points in the paint through the first 80 minutes of Ancient Eight action.

Brown has lost six of its last seven games, including consecutive matchups against Yale by an average of 19 points. The Bears lone victory of 2014 came at home against Vermont, knocking off the Catamounts, 61-51. Senior Lauren Clarke has led the Bears' offense with 16.4 ppg with Sophie Bikofsky chipping in 13.9.

First-year Ara Talkov played the best game of her collegiate career at Cornell on Jan. 25. The Swampscott, Mass., native scored her first collegiate points, finishing with eight points on 3-of-6 shooting, including two 3-pointers.

Through the first two games of the Ivy League slate the Lions have connected from long range on 42.3 percent of its attempts, tops in the Ancient Eight. Columbia posted its best 3-point shooting percentage of the season against Cornell on Jan. 18, hitting 7-of-13 attempts for a 53.8 clip. It is the second time this year Columbia has been better than 50 percent from deep after converting on 9-of-17 attempts (52.9%) at Lehigh.

For the first time this season, the Lions had six players score in double figures in its win over Lehigh on Dec. 28. Sara Mead and Carolyn Binder led the way with 16, while Miwa Tachibana (15), Tori Oliver (11), Amara Mbionwu (10) and Taylor Ward (10) all scored at least 10 points.

WARD'S BENCHMARKS
Senior Taylor Ward career stat line is among the best to play for Columbia women's basketball, and is continuing to improve. Already this season, Ward has eclipsed the 100 assists (156) and 500 points (603). On Dec. 9, Ward matched her career-high with six swipes and now ranks among Columbia's top-10 in steals with 127 in her career. With 105 made 3-pointers, she is eighth all-time in that category. The Oregon City, Ore., native also went over 200 rebounds against Bryant and now has 214.

THE 500 CLUB
With four rebounds against Colgate on Dec. 7, senior Courtney Bradford became just the 11th women's basketball player to record 500 rebounds in a career. Bradford currently has 550 boards, good for ninth all-time in program history.
