CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard took advantage of six Columbia turnovers to defeat the Lions 45-0 at Harvard Stadium.
The Crimson returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead, and scored after a recovered fumble at the Columbia 1-yard line in the beginning of the second quarter to take a 21-0 lead.
Columbia's defense held the Crimson offense scoreless until the final minutes of the second quarter when Harvard used a long run and a 22-yard pass to score with 58 seconds remaining in the half to take a 28-0 lead.
Harvard had one long drive in the game, at the start of the third quarter. The Crimson drove 75 yards on eight plays to take a 35-0 lead, but Harvard was unable to convert on two other turnovers deep in Columbia territory.
Harvard scored on a third interception early in the third quarter and the Crimson tacked on a field goal with just over a minute to play in the period for the final 45-0 margin.
Sophomore Brock Kenyon led the Lions tough defensive effort with 12 tackles, one tackle for a loss and one pass breakup. Devin Williams totaled nine tackles, while Keith Brady and Gianmarco Rea had eight each.
Offensively, Turner DeMuth had 45 yards rushing and 21 yards receiving, while Cameron Molina had 49 yards rushing and 48 yards receiving.
Columbia hosts its final home game of the season on Saturday, November 15 at 12:30 p.m. when they host Cornell for Senior Day.
