
Lions Return Home For Homecoming Weekend

NEW YORK - The Columbia volleyball team (4-10, 2-3 Ivy) returns to the Big Apple this weekend as it opens up a five-game home stand with a Homecoming matchup against Harvard (Oct. 16) and Dartmouth (Oct. 17).
WHAT TO KNOW
- The Lions will open the weekend with a Friday night matchup against the defending Ivy League Champion Harvard Crimson Tide at 7 p.m. before returning to the court on Saturday at 5 p.m. for a Homecoming matchup against Dartmouth.
- Columbia has dropped its last two meetings against the defending Ivy League champions but has won its last two against Dartmouth, taking a home-and-home sweep over the Big Green last season.
- Saturday's matchup against Dartmouth will be part of a campus-wide Homecoming celebration as the Columbia football team hosts conference-rival Penn at 3:30 p.m. on Robert K. Kraft Field.

HOME SWEET HOME
- The Lions are returning home to Francis Levien Gymnasium after playing on the road for the last eight-straight games.
- In their only three home games this season, played during the Columbia Invitational, the Lions were able to hold opponents to a .128 attacking percentage while posting up an impressive 32 blocks in only 11 sets for an average of 2.91.
- The offensive duo of Zoe Jacobs and Katarina Jovicic have dominated at home, averaging 3.45 and 3.56 kills per set, respectively, with Jovicic posting up a .638 attacking percentage during that time.
CHASING PROGRAM HISTORY
- With an impressive 797 assists (9.96 per set) last year that was fifth in the single-season record books, junior Jennifer Petrovich now has 1,708 total assists in her career, moving her into fourth all-time behind Cheryl Bucci (2,154).
- With 81 kills already this season, Bailey Springer is nearing the top five in career kills with 793.
- After moving into fourth place all-time after Columbia's win over Cornell (Sept. 26), Katarina Jovicic now has 222 total blocks in her career while Kesi Neblett (198) currently sits in seventh place all-time.
A QUICK LOOK AT HARVARD
- The defending Ivy League champions head into the weekend with an 8-7 record on a four-game winning streak to hold a share of first-place in the conference with Yale.
- The Crimson Tide swept three of its five Ivy League opponents this season while the other two went all the way to a deciding fifth set.
- Leading Harvard this year is junior setter Corinne Bain who averages 2.39 kills, 5.64 assists, 3.34 digs and 0.69 blocks per set for a team-leading 183.5 points.
A QUICK LOOK AT DARTMOUTH
- Dartmouth is rolling into the weekend on a three-game winning streak after having at least one set in each match decided by a win-by-two score.
- The Big Green will be heading into the Big Apple after facing off with Cornell on Friday night at 7 p.m.
- Dartmouth is led by Emily Astarita who is averaging 4.11 kills, 1.87 digs and 0.51 blocks per set for the Big Green.

- The Lions will continue their five-game homestand next weekend as they host Cornell on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
