Princeton, N.J. - On Saturday, Feb. 29, the Columbia men's swimming and diving capped the final day of the 2015 Ivy League Championships with a fifth-place finish and the climax to a spectacular performance by David Jakl at DeNunzio Pool. The senior tied as the High Point Swimmer of the Meet with Penn's Chris Swanson and finished the championships with three individual titles, along with five school records and one Ivy League record.

Jakl picked up his third Ivy League crown on Saturday with another Columbia all-time best swim. With a new program-record time of 42.75 in the 100 freestyle, the senior hit the wall in first-place along with a NCAA 'B' cut mark. He bested his own previous Columbia record mark of 43.00.

Senior Kevin Quinn had a big day in the 200 butterfly for the Lions. Following a prelims top-seed time of 1:43.88, Quinn returned in the championship finals to grab his first Ivy League title with an NCAA 'B' cut and program record time of 1:43.10. He bested the previous record set by Jakl during the dual-meet season at 1:43.25.

In the 200 breastroke, Jae Park broke the Columbia record in the prelims heat with a time of 1:58.92. Park surpassed the previous record of 1:59.24 set in 2009 by Zach Glassman. The first-year went on to earn a runner-up finish in the consolation finals with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:59.17 for 10th place overall.

On the boards, Jayden Pantel faced a tall order in the three-meter dive. Despite a meet record performance form Harvard's Michael Mosca for the win with 457.45 points, Pantel finished a strong runner-up in his first season with an NCAA 'A' qualifying score of 368.44 points.

The Lions capped the evening with record setting performance in the 400 freestyle relay. The squad of Jakl, Alex Ngan, Terry Li and Joe Shepley combined for a runner-up and Columbia record time of 2:53.72. The foursome bested the previous record of 2:54.53 set in 2011.

Princeton won is 30th Ivy League Championship with 15.19 points, with Harvard in second place with 1285.5 points. Columbia took fifth place with a total of 950.5 points.
