Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Host Harvard Tomorrow

The women will compete first at 11 a.m. followed by the men at 5 p.m.
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's and women's swimming and diving programs both will host Harvard on Friday afternoon at Uris Natatorium. The women will compete first at 11 a.m., followed by the men's meet at 5 p.m.
Spectators without a valid Columbia University ID or a registered QR code must enter the Uris Swim Center Balcony through the Northwest Corner Building at W120th & Broadway.
LAST TIME OUT
The men's team hosted Yale last Saturday afternoon at Percy Uris Natatorium, turning in several strong performances despite falling 194-106 to the Bulldogs in Ivy League action. Columbia opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 Medley Relay, as the team of Isaac Beers, Joshua Corn, Brian Lee, and Zion James clocked a 1:27.35. Beers led the Lions with a win in the 100 back (47.38) and a narrow second-place finish in the 200 back (1:46.10). Corn also had a standout day, taking second in both the 100 breast (54.29) and 200 breast (1:57.75).
The women's team continued Ivy League competition last Friday evening, traveling to New Haven to take on Yale. The Lions battled throughout but came up short, as the Bulldogs earned a 213-87 win. Columbia opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, as the A team of Shaelyn Shields, Ashley Hong, Ella Chan, and Isabel Lee clocked a 1:44.86. Victoria Mori highlighted the 200 free, taking second with a time of 1:53.38, while Shields and Jilly MacNamara went 2-3 in the 100 back, posting times of 57.23 and 57.26, respectively.
SCOUTING HARVARD MEN
The Harvard men are 3-0 so far this season, with wins over UMass, Cornell, and Dartmouth.
Joshua Chen, David Schmitt are names to watch for the Crimson. Chet recently set a Dartmouth pool record in the 100 breast, winning the event in 53.76. In the 200 fly, Schmitt (1:44.14) also posted the fastest time in pool history.
Harvard takes a 74-5 all-time record vs. the Lions into Friday's meet. The Crimson has won 18 consecutive dual meets vs. Columbia.
Harvard finished 7-2 overall with a 5-2 mark in the Ivy League, including a 201-99 win over Columbia. The Crimson would go on to finish second at the Ivy League Championships.

The Crimson have won 13 straight dual meets and will look for a 14th on Friday. The have won 10 consecutive head-to-head matchups with Columbia and are 38-1 all-time vs. the Lions.
Carolina Daher and Kiley Wolhelm are names to watch for Harvard. Last time out, Daher set the Dartmouth pool record in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:00.27. Wilhelm set a pair of pool records of her own, establishing a new standard in the 200 back (1:57.60) and 200 IM (2:00.11).
Last year, the Crimson were undefeated, posting a 10-0 overall record and 7-0 mark in the Ivy League, including a 206-93 win over the Lions. Harvard would go on to finish second at the Ivy League Championships.
