NEW YORK – Coming off its first victory of the season, the No. 39 Columbia women's tennis team looks to test its mettle against a slew of Ivy League talent this weekend in Ithaca, New York, at the ECAC Women's Tennis Championship, hosted by Cornell at the Reis Tennis Center.

RANK AND FILE
In the first ITA Division I National rankings of the spring season, Columbia was slotted 40th. Currently, the Lions land 39th in the national poll, the highest amongst the five ranked Ivy League Schools.
ITA RANKINGS
REWINDING A YEAR
As the top seed, the Lions took down Princeton, 4-1, and Yale by an identical score to capture the ECAC Title a year ago. Columbia captured the doubles point in each match and sailed on the singles court to secure the championship.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Seeds 3 through 6 will kick off the tournament Friday, Feb. 6. Fourth-seeded Dartmouth and fifth-seeded Brown get things underway at 10 a.m., before the host's, Cornell, who is seeded sixth, wraps up day one versus third-seeded Yale. The second-seeded Lions will take on the winner of the Big Red and Bulldogs on Saturday while top-seeded Princeton will face the victor of the Big Green and Bears.

LAST TIME OUT
In its home opener, the No. 39 Columbia women's tennis team put on a powerful display, to power past St. Johns' 5-2 Friday afternoon at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.

ABOUT NO. 39 COLUMBIA (1-2)
The Lions tallied their first mark in the win column Friday, Jan. 30 when they bested St. John's, 5-2, in the friendly confines of the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
In the home-opener, Columbia captured the doubles point for the first time this season with wins on the first and third court. No. 42 Tina Jiang and Crystal Leung partnered up for a victory in the first spot while Adi Milstein and Kanika Vaidya paired up for the win in the third spot. The triumphs marked the first dual meet victories for each duo.
On the singles court, six players have earned a win with the Lions best percentage coming on the fourth court from 1-0 performances by Leung and Alexandra Solovyev. Vaidya is also boasts a 1-0 ledger on the third court.
THE FIELD
The Ivy League boasts a number of strong teams this season, as evidenced by teams' records and players ranked nationally. Besides Columbia (1-2), Cornell (0-3) and Princeton (0-4), all other squads hold records over .500, led by Dartmouth, which owns a 3-0 mark. However, at No. 39, Columbia enters the tournament as the league's highest ranked team and the second seed. Below are the Ivy League players within the national ranks:
