NEW YORK - The 2015 schedule for the Columbia football team has been announced today.
The first game in Columbia Blue for the Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football, Al Bagnoli will come on the road, when the Lions travel to the Bronx for a Sept. 19 contest with Fordham. Columbia and Fordham have met for the Liberty Cup 13 times since 2002.
Columbia's first home game will take place the following week, when Georgetown travels to Inwood for the first time since 2006. The Lions were victorious in that matchup, knocking off the Hoyas by a score of 23-21.
Ivy League play will begin on Oct. 3, when Columbia hits the road for a game at Princeton. The following weekend, the Lions will play the final non-conference game of the year when Wagner makes the cross-borough trip from Staten Island for an Oct. 10 game. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
After the Wagner game, Ivy League play will be in full tilt, with Homecoming falling on Oct. 17 against Coach Bagnoli's former team, Penn.
Two straight road trips will fall on Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, in games at Dartmouth and Yale. The Lions will welcome Harvard on Nov. 7, before the final road contest at Cornell in the Liberty Bowl on Nov. 14. Senior Day is set to take place on Nov. 21, with Brown scheduled as the final opponent of the 2015 season.
