
Charlie Bettinelli Passes Away

Charlie Bettinelli Jr., member of the Columbia Athletics Hall of Fame 1996 Football team, passed away May 4, 2015 in San Diego.
Bettinelli, who graduated from Columbia in 1998 with a BS in Civil Engineering and BA in Mathematics, was a key, four-year member of the Columbia Football team as a defensive end.
Bettinelli had his career-best season in 1996 with 30 tackles, 10 TFL and 4.5 sacks. The 1996 Columbia Football team was inducted into the Columbia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
A Visitation (open to all) will be held at Duggans Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa St., Sonoma, on Wednesday, May 13, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Thursday, May 14, there will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, 601 Agua Caliente Drive in Sonoma, at 1:00 p.m. there will be a Celebration of Life for Charles at the Hanna Boys Center, 17000 Arnold Drive in Sonoma.
