
Ruesterholz Earns NFHCA Senior Game Nod; Kuntz Chosen as Alternate

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Columbia field hockey forward Katie Ruesterholz has been selected to play at the 2016 Victory Sports/National Field Hockey Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game, while goalkeeper Kendall Kuntz was selected as an alternate for the event. A total of 50-student-athletes were chosen to compete either as participants or alternates.
The contest will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 2:30 p.m. at Old Dominion University.
Ruesterholz is fresh off a pair of record setting weekends, becoming the Lions' all-time leader in points on October 21 and the program's career leader in goals on October 30. In her four years, she has racked up 43 goals and 105 points. She is a three-time All-Ivy League selection and was tabbed as an NFHCA All-Mideast Region selection in 2015. Ruesterholz has a career-best 14 goals and 35 points to rank second in the Ivy League in both categories.
Kuntz has earned all eight Columbia victories this season and is averaging 4.44 saves per contest. She has nine games where she has stopped five or more shots, including a career-high eight saves in a win over Dartmouth on October 21.
